The short version

Memori does not collect personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising, and it does not use servers of its own. Your photos, calendar events, and settings stay on your device unless you choose to share a memory.

What the app reads, and why

Photos: with your permission, Memori looks through the photo library on your device to find pictures taken on this calendar day in past years. Photos are read locally and are not uploaded, copied, or analyzed anywhere else.

Calendar: optionally, and with your permission, Memori reads the calendar on your device to show the plans you made alongside those photos. Events are not uploaded.

Notifications: if you turn on the daily reminder, Memori schedules local notifications on your device, only for mornings that have photos from past years. It finds those mornings by checking your photo library on the device. No push servers are involved.

Face data

Memori does not collect, use, store, share, or retain face data. The app performs no face detection, facial recognition, or facial analysis of any kind, and it includes no technology capable of doing so.

Photos are found by the date and location information they already carry, and they are shown to you as pictures. Their contents — including any faces in them — are never scanned, measured, or turned into data. Because no face data is ever created or collected, there is nothing to use, nothing to share with anyone, and nothing to store, retain, or delete.

Place names

When a photo carries a location, Memori asks the operating system's built-in geocoding service (provided by Apple) to turn those coordinates into a short place name, like a neighborhood or city. Only the coordinates are sent, only to that system service, and the resulting name is cached on your device so each place is looked up once. Memori does not read or track your current location.

What stays on your device

Your settings, favorites and hidden memories, daily streak, the dates the reminder skips, and cached place names are stored in the app's local storage. Memori keeps references to photos (identifiers) rather than the images themselves. Deleting the app deletes all of this data.

Sharing

Sharing happens only when you choose it, and only what you pick is sent: a memory card (a new image made from the photo), a video as its original clip, or photos as their originals, through the system share sheet or Messages to the person or app you choose. A memory card shows a place name only if you tick Include location. Original photos and videos keep the details saved with them, which can include where they were taken. Memori itself does not post, publish, or transmit anything.

Your choices

You can change photo, calendar, and notification permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app, and you can turn the calendar source or the daily reminder on and off inside Memori. Because everything is stored locally, deleting the app removes everything it has saved.

Children's privacy

Memori does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app has no data collection to begin with, so there is nothing to gather.
